Gladys was renamed 'Elf' soon after having been launched. She was sold across to Southampton in 1925, remaining there for the next 25 years and acquiring the name 'Lustre'. Only some of her owners during that period are known.

She was brought back to Dublin in 1950 having had her former name of 'Elf' restored and was renamed her original 'Gladys' in 1971.
