Browser Type
The site is designed primarily for Microsoft Internet Explorer, since most of the site's viewers use it.

The site is tested in Explorer, Version 6. If your Explorer version is below 6.0 it would be worthwhile upgrading.

Setting your Browser to Accept Cookies
In parts of the site a cookie is dropped to your computer. This is a small text file which stores information needed for operating that part of the site, ie remembering your menu settings and that sort of thing. Cookies are also used whenever you logon.

Most browsers accept cookies by default. However, if this does not appear to be so for your browser, the procedure for setting it to accept cookies is outlined below.

      Explorer (6.0+)
In Top Toolbar go to Tools -> Internet Options
Click Security Tab
Click Custom Level button
Scroll down to Cookies
Click Enable to allow cookies to be stored on your computer
and
Click Enable to allow 'per-session' cookies
Click OK

Screen Resolution
The site was designed originally with a fixed width of 760px for 800 x 600 browser monitors. However, I guess that these days (2009) most of the sailing fraternity have higher resolution monitors.

The site is best viewed at 1024 X 768 or higher.

Setting Screen Resolution
Press Start  -  Settings  -  Control Panel
Then double-click on Display icon.
Press the Settings tab and you will see your current screen resolution.
Move the slider to your desired resolution.
Then click OK - etc
Changing the resolution setting only changes the way stuff is displayed on the screen.
