What Documents will be in PDF Format
PDF's are now frequently used for passing documents over the internet. So, setting-up your computer to read PDF files is not just of benefit to you in reading and printing PDF documents from this site.

PDF's are particularly useful for Notice of Race, Entry Form or Sailing Instructions etc. I'll identify a PDF file by putting "(PDF)" after the calling link.

However, I'll mainly use MS Word documents for Notice of Race, Entry Form or Sailing Instructions etc for the present because its the safest option since most users have Word.

What is a PDF file
A Portable Document Format (PDF) file is similar to a standard word processing file, but is specially formatted for efficient transfer over the internet. You need an Adobe Reader to view this file on the screen and print it in hard copy.

Download Adobe Reader
Click on this link to download a free copy of Adobe Reader from the Adobe web site. Its about 5Mb so takes a while to download.

Using Adobe Reader
Generally, when you download a PDF file, Adobe Reader is automatically started. It runs within the website window and displays the PDF.

Sometimes this does not happen and instead you get a screen message "Cannot find Adobe Reader". If you have Reader installed then just download the file to a folder, start Adobe Reader and open the file in it - its just like opening a document with Word.
