"Dux" is the outstanding boat of the 2013 Autumn League, having topped the strong Class 2 fleet with a string of firsts and a discard of a second place. Anthony Gore-Grimes' X-302 excelled in the range of conditions presented over the last five weeks. The next five chasers were only separated by two points, showing the strength in that class. Not content to walk away with just one award, "Dux" also won the ECHO division.
The "Olympus Trophy", for the top team of three boats, was taken by "Tiger", "Sinn a Bhfuil" and "Trick or Treat", representing entries from Class 4, J80 and Puppeteer 22 fleets respectively.
Celebrations were most obvious in the Puppeteer 22 circle with the crew of "Gold Dust" getting down on the dance floor to round off a day which saw them win their fleet on count-back. The winner on handicap was another blue boat, "Mayfly".

Also on the Inshore Course, only three points separated the first three Howth Seventeens going into the last race. The yellow jersey went to Peter Courtney's "Oona" after a battle that saw him beat "Rita" by only two points.
The strict one-design fleet of J80s was lead home by Gillian Guinness with husband Mossy holding the fort for the last race. Alistair Kissane was snapping away only two points adrift.
In Class 3, the J24s didn't have it all their own way. The swift Laser 28 "Allianz 2" put up a strong challenge to "Hard on Port" but with the wind dropping away, conditions favoured the boat with the larger headsails. Flor O'Driscoll won the class and the top J24 award.

"Alphida" was the boat to beat in both divisions of Class 5 and walked away with a tremendous haul of silver wear.
Fergus O'Kelly's yellow "Selik" took home the silverware in the the resurgent Squib Fleet.
Only a point separated the winning "Equinox" from "Storm" in Class 1. The blue boat also won the ECHO division.

|
Another three-way tie was broken in favour of the NYC boat "Orna" in Class 4 ECHO. On IRC, Colm Birmingham's eternally successful "Bite the Bullet" took the Sleater Salver.
For the superstitious amongst us, it looks like blue or yellow are the hull colours required to go quickly!
More detailed Class Captain reports to follow.
