Howth Yacht Club is the Irish Independent/Mitsubishi Motors 'Sailing Club of the Year' for 2009

The award is in recognition of HYC's sailing and community related activities during 2008, in which the club hosted a number of national competitions in addition to its comprehensive local racing programme and the sailing achievements of HYC sailors at home and abroad.

The trophy, which is an ancient ship's wheel, will be presented to HYC in the awards ceremony this Spring.
