An introduction to sailing for adults

 
The Adult Sail Training Programme will take place in late May / early June this year and the aim of the course is to introduce beginners to the sport of sailing and Howth Yacht Club / it's facilities.

Numbers for the course will be limited to a maximum of 25 persons and last year the course was over-subscribed. Due to the demand for this course, applications will be taken on a first come - first served basis and places will be reserved once the club has received a fully completed application form with payment.

The Cost of the programme which includes temporary crewing membership of Howth Yacht Club for the 2009 Season is Euro Symbol260-00 for non-members (Euro Symbol20-00 for members) and must be paid by cheque / cash / credit card with the application.

The dates for the programme are:

Monday 18th May
Thursday 21st May
Monday 25th May
Thursday 28th May
Tuesday 2nd June
Thursday 4th June

The course will be run each evening from 7 P.M. Sharp to 9 P.M. and all those taking part must have basic wet weather gear and a lifejacket / buoyancy aid.

On the water sessions will be weather permitting.

Please note that it is compulsory to attend the first evening class as this covers safety, if an individual does not take part in this class then they cannot attend the rest of the course.
