New Irish Fireball Class Chairman, Neil Colin (14775), was Master of Ceremonies when the Irish Fireball fleet celebrated the (regatta) season just concluded with its prize-giving dinner hosted by Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club on Friday evening, 25th November.

In addition to awarding medals for the season long Travellers Trophy, the occasion sees the Class award its own prizes to recognize excellence and contribution to the class.

Members can see Diana and crew spending almost every spare moment thrashing their 470 around the sound, getting in the maximum amount of boat time before heading off to various Olympic Classes events in the near future. The Fireball is the closest one can get to the 470 in Ireland, in terms of similarities of rig, speed, crewing, etc. Her Fireball results bode well!

HYC hosts the 50th Anniversary Irish Championships in 2012. The aim is to attract at least 50 entries for an event that will be geared towards a long weekend of fun, sprinkled with racing.
