Fireballs in action at their Leinsters in Howth in 2010

For the first time ever, Howth will be fielding a representation of 4 boats for the Fireball Nationals. Dunlaoire Motor Yacht Club is hosting the event over the coming weekend and 35 boats are expected. Neil Murphy will be RO and Richard Kissane is ARO.

Following on from successes earlier in the year, Diana Kissane and Luke Malcolm will be looking to bounce around the business end of the fleet with Rob Ferris in the mix too. Looking for a change in scenery, Emmet Dalton has pinned down a Fireball for the nine race regatta.

The Fireball class enjoyed its 2010 Leinsters at HYC so much, that Howth has just been awarded the 2012 Fireball Nationals. The class celebrates its 50th birthday next year and this promises to bolster the entry to over 40 boats.

A post-2011 Nationals report will follow with stories of bruises, bumps and, hopefully, a few Howth successes
