For only the second time since 1977, the new J24 Class Chairman is from outside the USA. Robin Eagleson from Lough Erne Yacht Club has been chosen as the man to lead the class for the next few years, a very timely appointment, given Howth’s 2013 event.

(L-R) Melanie McCaughey (HYC), Marylou Chapman (Canada),
Mrs. Porter (Mexico), Mrs. De-Fraia (Italy), Frank Pelly (Irish Lights)

While the delegates got down to the nitty-gritty of sailing issues, their partners and children toured the Baily Lighthouse (Thanks to David Delamer for organising this special visit) and then enjoyed a guided tour of Dublin city.

Over the weekend, the area benefited from the visitors staying and eating locally and enjoying a comfortable amount of Smithwicks, Jameson, Cork Gin and Guinness!

The weekend was topped off with an informal dinner in the club, with Commodore Roger Cagney exchanging burgees with the visitors.
