Variety Ireland - The Children's Charity, is a non-profit charitable organistion dedicated to raising funds for children with special needs. This is the first time that they are bringing the "National Boat for Hope" to Irish children.

Whilst the Variety Club of Ireland will co-ordinate all aspects of the event on the shore (Tented village and catering/ entertainment on Harbour Road), Pat Murphy and Brian Turvey will look after the marine end.

Calling all boat owners!

They will be recruiting boat owners from Howth, Malahide, Dublin Bay and other areas to take the kids and their families out for a short trip. The families will be assisted by helpers from the various hospitals, scout groups etc. and they expect to need about 40 boats for the event, many of which should be motor cruisers.

They are looking for volunteer boat owners and crew to help take the children out for a short (45 minute approx.) trip. Some of the children are wheelchair bound and as such offers of motor vessels with appropriate sized decks would be of great benefit to the event.

If you can help please contact Pat Murphy at 087 253 13 41 - or better still,
contact Pat on email: [email protected] for further details and information.
