Isobel and Bobolink lead the way home
The Howth 17 Footer World Championships took place on the 6th and 7th of August and a great weekend was had by all participants. The racing was hard and competitive so much so that each race was won by a different boat. Erica took honours on the Friday evening race and Saturday saw wins by Isobel, Hera and Bobolink.
Harry Gallagher, Frank Cruise, Suzanne Cruise and Neville Maguire must be thanked for completing 3 races on a Saturday afternoon. No mean feat as wind directions passed through 180 degrees over the course of the series!
After hard work on the water refreshments were certainly welcome and the Championship dinner was a hit with all those attending. Pat and Fiona Kelly representing Kelly Systems Limited presented prizes to the following:
