Three Howth Yacht Club Members received awards for their longstanding service to Howth Lifeboat at the Annual RNLI National Awards Ceremony on Saturday 23rd May in the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham.

Pat Kenny presented Maeve Derham and Bill Walsh with Silver Badges in recognition of their fundraising activities for the station for many years. Maeve has raised thousands over the years from both her successful annual ladies luncheon and as chairwoman of the Howth Lifeboat Fundraising Committee. Bill has also shown his commitment to the RNLI cause through his tireless fundraising for Howth Lifeboat.

John Massey was awarded a Lifeboat Statuette in recognition of his involvement with the RNLI for more than forty years both as a crew member and more recently as Deputy Launching Authority.

Rupert Jeffares, Howth Lifeboat Operations Manager, says ... "It is great to see our volunteers being honoured in this way. Without their fundraising endeavours, our lifeboat crews could not save lives at sea"

A big thankyou to Maeve, Bill, John and all who support Howth Lifeboat.
