Rosie leaving Howth

Roy Dickson's Rosie (Corby 36) has been sold to Chris Opielok from Hamburg, Germany.

Since she was purchased by Roy in 2004 Rosie has successfully competed in a wide range of events in Irish and UK waters. She departed Howth on Friday 25th September 2009 headed for Cowes where she will be resprayed a different hull colour and serviced.

Rosie will be renamed 'Rockall' after Chris' father's yacht. His father, Horst Opielok, (who commanded a minesweeper in the Kriegsmarine) was doing various Atlantic Races from the States to the Continent in the 50's and 60's and once, when on board 'Hamburg V' they got stuck off Rockall in light winds - so the name stuck in his mind.

Chris emailed confirmation that they arrived safely at Cowes and thanked everyone at HYC for their kind hospitality and help in getting Rosie ready for their 400nm trip.
