Diana Kissane & Saskia Tidey of HYC/RIYC competed in the 470 Junior European Championships on Lake Garda last week and finished 11th despite suffering a torn spinnaker on one day and gear failure on another in windy conditions. Their best races were two 5th places and a 6th place in an 11 race series.

The girls started sailing the 470 last September and have made huge progress so far in what is a very competitive class. The International 470 organisation presented the girls with the top 'International 470 Solidarity Award' - a full set of Olimpic sails.
