Preparations are now well in hand for the start of the club racing season
which begins on Tuesday 25th April. However its worth remembering that
racing in HYC takes place all year round with a very successful Brass
Monkeys and Laser Frostbite series over the Winter months.
It is with great pleasure that I can report the increase in our 2 largest
one design fleets with the Puppeteers increasing their numbers to 30 boats
and the spectacular Etchell fleet hot on their heals with more boats on the
way.
There have also been many upgrades and new arrivals to boats in class 1, 2 &
3. Foundations are certainly in place for a very exciting 2006.
HPH system is to run again this year after a very successful season last
year.
HYC are pleased to welcome back Sutton Cross Pharmacy as our sponsor for the
Lambay races and Anglo Irish Bank for the Autumn League again this year.
The Challenge Business Round Ireland Challenge starts from Dublin on the
22nd of April with 6 boats competing with up to 14 novice sailors on each
vessel. HYC are delighted to have been asked assist with the start of this
very exciting inaugural event in Dublin Bay.
The hugely successful Adult Sail training course will run again this year
with the first course starting on the 29th May.
I wish you all a wonderful, safe and enjoyable sailing season.
Fair winds and Great Sailing
