Gilbert Louis of HYC won the 2009 One Metre East Coast championships held in Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club on Sunday 8th November.
By winning this championship Gilbert breaks the streak of winning by John and Andrew of the RCYC. Fergal Noonan finished 4th with his Australian design Disco. Gilbert and Fergal also sail together in Cruisers 2 on a Corbie 25. After a rather poor start with only one bullet, two fourths and a fifth compared to three bullets and a fifth for Andrew Crosbie, Gilbert went on to win the remaining 6 races, winning the championships by a narrow marging of 3 points. |

| Both Gilbert and Fergal will fly the HYC colours at the class national championships in Dromineer on the 22nd November where they will try to bring the title and trophy home. |
