On Friday 9th December Howth Yacht Club members and guests enjoyed an excellent Christmas Charity Lunch organised by Rear Commodore, Dave Cullen.
This year's charity was a Kenyan primary school called Bombolulu School of Promise which caters for orphan and disadvantaged children from the Bombolulu slum area of Mombasa.
The lunch was a great success and featured our own raconteur Winkie Nixon who entertained all and introduced Eddie Warden Owen, one of the world's greatest professional sailors whose list of successes is encyclopaedic.
Despite the difficult climate, we managed to raise 9,000 for this worthy cause and you can get details on www.bombolulu.org
