Rupert Jeffares, Lifeboat Operations Manager, Howth and General Manager of HYC, was presented with a Gold Badge by the Duchess of Cornwall at the Annual RNLI Awards Ceremony held recently at the Barbican Centre in London.
Rupert has been involved with the lifeboat at Howth for forty one years, having originally joined the ILB crew in 1967.

Rupert, Rose Michael and Jean Duggan also received awards at the Irish Awards Ceremony in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
Rupert�s award was re-presented, Rose was presented with a Silver Badge in recognition of her tremendous fundraising in the Malahide and Portmarnock areas over many years and Jean was awarded a Bronze Badge, she has organised a very successful house to house collection in Baldoyle as well as being involved in many other fundraising activities for the lifeboat.
Peter McKenna, who was unable to attend the ceremony, was awarded a RNLI Statuette, he is Honorary Treasurer of the Howth Station Branch and was previously a Deputy Launching Authority.
