In a move to enhance the racing and coaching skills of members at various levels, Howth Yacht Club has announced the appointment of Graeme Grant as its first ever Coaching Development Manager.
A familiar face on the Irish sailing scene in recent years, the 36-year Scot - he hails from the Scottish Highlands - is a highly experienced coach with ISA qualifications as an Instructor Coach, Adventure Instructor and Powerboat Instructor, among others.
A former member of the British Olympic 470 Development Squad in the build-up to the 1996 Games, his sailing successes include the Scottish 420 Nationals and the Hornet Youth Worlds while in recent times he has competed in Surf Kayaking, representing Ireland at the 2003 Worlds (finishing 9th overall).
