| The ISA Youth Nationals were held in Schull 6th to 9th April. Weather conditions were good for the annual four day event and the full schedule of 11 races was completed. Toppers, Fevas and Optimists raced in Schull Harbour while Lasers and 420's raced in Roaringwater Bay. HYC was well represented by the following sailors who made the long trip to West Cork for the week:
Mark Condy put in a fine performance and finished third overall in the 4.7 class and will travel with the Irish squad to France for the European Championships this Summer. Congratulations to Scott Flanigan who sailed with Cian O'Regan of Kinsale Yacht Club to win the 420 Junior Nationals. Two HYC boats qualified for the European Championships to be held in La Rochelle in August with Scott Flanigan in the boys event and Diana Kissane in the girls event. Well done to all the sailors! |
