HYC involvement did not stop with our sailors. Harry Gallagher & his assistants aboard 'Tigger' provided excellent race management for the 92 boat fleet spread across five classes. The need to cater for so many different classes necessitated start lines to port & starboard of the committee boat, & inner & outer courses, the smooth organisation of which was no mean feat.
Also prominent on the water were Sinead Wheeler, Rob Slater, Miles Byrne & Chris Howard providing rescue. Their support and the SDC rescue ribs were increasingly in demand during the second race as the strengthening breeze saw several boats capsize and in need of assistance.
Thanks to our neighbours in Sutton and the co-operation of the weather. A very enjoyable day on and off the water.
