| Congratulations to the HYC sailors who took part in the 2012 IODAI Optimist Trials and who successfully secured places in teams for the forthcoming season. The first leg of the trials was held in Dun Laoghaire in April. The second leg was held in Dunmore East over the Bank Holiday weekend Saturday 5th to Monday 7th May. Very shifty conditions were experienced with winds swinging from N/E, E, S/E, S and S/W. On the final day the sailors experienced the renowned Dunmore East "Big Seas".
