Fresh from winning the West Coast Championship but missing the recent Dun Laoghaire regatta, Vincent Gaffney and crew of Alliance headed for Dun Laoghaire to compete in the Class III East Coast Championship, which took place in the Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club on 27th to 29th July.
|
Tough competition was expected with the overall winner of the recent Dun Laoghaire regatta Whistling Dixie, and the Malahide supremo's on Hydrogin taking part.
However, a comprehensive 4 x 1st places 1x 2nd place and discarding another 2nd place put Alliance's hands firmly on the trophy!
They were 11 points ahead of the 2nd place finisher Whistling Dixie.
