Prize Giving for the "Sevenstar Round Britain And Ireland Race 2006" took place on Friday, Sept 29th, at the Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble, UK.

Two Irish boats were entered in the 29 boat race. The race was non-stop and 9 boats retired.
Kingspan - Chieftain (owner, Ger O'Rourke - Western Yacht Club, Kilrush - in photo above) took the 1st prize for IRC category A and the overall 1st prize.
Changeling (owners, Kieran Jameson & Aidan MacManus - HYC) took the 1st prize for IRC category E.
Changeling took 16 days 26 minutes and 41 seconds to complete the c.2,400 mile race with head winds for most of the way!
All of Changeling's crew were from HYC.
