On 2nd October a magical evening was created when four chefs from Howth's top class restaurants combined their talents to create a memorable dining experience. Howth Sutton Lions Club recently held their annual "Taste of Howth" charity night in Howth Yacht Club, Ireland's biggest and one of the longest established sailing clubs in the country.

This wonderful evening was kindly sponsored and presented by Howth's award winning restaurants. Aqua, The House, The King Sitric and Octopussy all worked together and combined their culinary skills to provide a unique and exciting gourmet occasion. Many prominent members from the sailing community cast aside their oilskins and wellies and appeared with style and panache to support this worthy appeal.

Details of the restaurants can be found on www.howthismagic.com. Businesses and local individuals were also very generous with sponsorship and donations.

All proceeds from the evening will be shared between the Howth Lifeboat (RNLI) and the general charities of the Lions Club. This night was a great success and a truly memorable food experience. The President of the Howth Sutton Lions, Marianne Lehane, thanked the restaurants and the staff for all their hard work, and all who supported and contributed to making this a wonderful evening.

Marianne appealed for continued goodwill in the future "in these tough economic times there are more and more calls for our help and to fulfil our goals in the community we very much rely on your generosity".
