Diarmiud Gavin with Philomena Linnott

It's that time of the year and the Lunching Lifeboat ladies are at it again. This year the ladies raised just under Euro Symbol14,000 for the RNLI. The money was raised through the hard work of Maeve Derham, Maura Farrell and their team, who annually make this event a huge success.

Diarmiud Gavin attended as the guest speaker, jokingly commenting that he felt like a "lamb to the slaughter", and who could blame him - all alone in the room with 170 ladies! Unfortunately, the President of this fundraiser, Maura McLoughlin, was unable to attend this year but was certainly with the girls in spirit.

The annual luncheon has raised Euro Symbol52,000 since its beginning in the year 2000. This has been made possible through the generous donations of prizes for both the raffle and the auction. One of the prizes that fetched the highest bid this year was a diamond necklace donated by Gough's jewellers of Howth.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to and attended the Lunch.
