18th October 2008

21 members visited Courtlough on Saturday 18th October for a clay pigeon shoot organised by Dave Cullen. Participants ranged from complete novices to very proficient shots.

The party was split into three groups and the winners of each group were Joe McPeake, Dave Cullen & Paddy Gregory. The top three scorers then had a shoot off and the winner was declared as Richard McCaffrey, second place was to Joe McPeake with Paddy Gregory taking third.

All agreed that the quality of the venue and instruction was excellent and have vowed for a return visit before Christmas.

The gang returned to HYC for a prize giving where bottles of wine were awarded to the winners and booby prizes in each group with crystal being awarded to the final trio.

Don Breen has kindly donated a beautiful bronze trophy as a perpetual prize to be known as the 'Breen Trophy' and this will be held for the next 12 months by Richard McCaffrey.

Congratulations to all the winners but more importantly to all of those who attended this most enjoyable outing.
